Story description

Peach the cat has a secret. Every day he leaves to attend to his "important cat business," leaving the little boy to wonder—what could be so important? When curiosity gets the better of him, the boy follows the cat and discovers a whole world of small but very necessary kind deeds. This is a story about learning not to be offended by friends, but to understand them.

A touching tale of friendship, kindness, and the importance of being there for those who need it. Perfect for family reading with children aged 4 to 6.

The Boy and Very Important Cat Business (book excerpt)

There once lived a cheerful and curious boy named Leo. He was always making up new games and loved going for walks and exploring new places. He had a cat named Peach. He was ginger, fluffy, and very dignified. Leo loved it when Peach joined in his games or just lay nearby, squinting in the sun.

But sometimes, the cat would suddenly get up and leave. Without warning. He would walk past the fence, across the yard, and then disappear. Leo would call for him, get angry, and feel hurt — after all, that’s not what friends do.

One day, he complained to his mother:

"Why does he keep leaving? He’s my friend!"

"He has his own cat business to attend to," her mother replied.

"Cat business?" Leo thought. "What kind of business could Peach possibly have?"

The next day, when the cat stood up, stretched, and headed for the door, Leo got up and followed him. Quietly and unnoticed, just like a real detective.

The Boy and Very Important Cat Business

Absolutely incredible! The stories are lovely, the printing is top quality, and the illustrations are stunning. My son is obsessed — he wants it read to him multiple times a day, and honestly I never get tired of reading it either. There's something magical about a book where the hero is your own child. We pore over every page together — it genuinely feels like a collector's edition. I've been showing it to everyone and already planning to order more. Best gift idea for kids, by far.
